Apple CEO Tim Cook To Host Fundraiser For Paul Ryan
Even though Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) doesn't like Donald Trum and recently decided to pull support for the GOP convention, the tech behemoth’s top management team seems to still like Republicans.
According to POLITICO, in an attempt to make amends and further its relationships with some of the main Republican politicians, Apple CEO Tim Cook will be hosting a fundraiser with House Speaker Paul Ryan next Tuesday, June 28. According to the political news site, Cook and Gary Wipfler, the company’s treasurer, will be raising cash for Ryan and other House Republicans at a private breakfast in California.

However, it should be noted that unlike other tech giants including Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Facebook Inc (NASDAQ: FB), Apple doesn't count with a corporate political action committee. This means “Cook is hosting the fundraiser on his own accord,” POLITICO’s Tony Romm explained.
“Still, the move reflects Apple’s desire to court Republican and Democratic officeholders alike, even at a time when it has serious reservations about Trump, the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee,” he added.
