Dogecoin Co-Creator One Step Closer To Dream Job Of 'Professional S**tposter,' Thanks To Elon Musk's Twitter

As Elon Musk fires up “creator subscriptions bigtime” on TwitterDogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) co-founder Billy Markus — popularly known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto — has gotten one step closer to his dream job of “professional s**tposter.”

What Happened: On Thursday, Musk took to Twitter to inform users that the microblogging site is working to elevate creator subscriptions in an unprecedented manner.

When asked if the platform is also working on sharing ad revenue for creators, the Twitter CEO replied that the site has a “surprisingly complex codebase” but is working on it.

Meanwhile, after British rapper and podcaster Nzube Olisaebuka Udezue — better known by his stage name Zuby — apparently took a jibe at how the platform has progressed under Musk’s leadership, Markus came to the Twitter CEO’s defense, saying he found a way to make money from his “mental illness.”

He seems to be referring to his tweets that may be provocative or off-topic, which might lead to some users being upset or frustrated.

Markus shared a screenshot of the Creator Subscription button on his profile, which Musk said is currently stuck in Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPLApp Store because of a pending approval process. He said the “Subscribe” button works on the web and devices running on Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGLAndroid operating system.

Why It’s Important: The aforementioned conversation ensued just days after Musk accused Substack, a popular subscription newsletter platform, of stealing Twitter’s data to compete with the microblogging site.

Last month, Musk also announced that Twitter Blue subscribers could write tweets of up to 10,000 characters. Previously the limit was 4,000. The step was taken to make it easier for writers to charge subscription fees for premium content.
