UAW, Volvo's Mack Trucks Edge Closer To Ending Strike With Tentative Deal

Volvo Group-owned (OTC:VLVLY) heavy-duty truck maker Mack Trucks and nearly 4,000 workers represented by the United Auto Workers (UAW) union reached an agreement on Sunday as they neared midnight.

What Happened: The union informed via its social media handles that the workers at Mack Truck in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida have a tentative agreement.

The members are currently reviewing the agreement and more details will be provided upon completion of the review, the post added.

Why It Matters: UAW kickstarted a strike against the Detroit Three on Sept. 15 at midnight. The strike is now in its third week with no end in sight.

Unless an agreement is reached, the strike would ensue at Mack as well, the union had warned on Friday.
