Ford CEO Jim Farley Reposts Video Of F-150 Lightning Powering A Bounce House After Generator Failed

Ford Motor Co‘s F-150 Lightning EV pickup truck seemingly saved a day for children earlier this year.

What Happened: EV enthusiast Justin Horn in January shared a short video of an F-150 Lightning powering a bounce house after the generator turned off unexpectedly with kids inside.

The Lightning owner rushed and got it plugged into the pump real quick, Horn wrote in his post.

The Lightning has power outlets in the cab, bed, and frunk of the vehicle. In the video, the house is seemingly connected to the power outlet in the truck bed.

The video was shared by Ford CEO Jim Farley on Monday.

Why It Matters: The Lightning can even power homes in case of a power outage if the home is properly equipped. It can power homes for up to three days or even 10 if usage is properly rationed, according to the automaker.

Lightning’s key rival Cybertruck can also power tools. The Cybertruck is the only Tesla equipped with powershare to charge homes or other EVs.
