Afternoon Market Update (TWC, AMR, JBLU, ONXX)

Shares of Time Warner Cable Inc (NYSE: TWC) surged after the company announced its plans of $4 billion stock repurchase. The company also reported 34% y/y rise in its Q3 profit. TWC shares are up about 5.5%.

US Airline stocks moved up after American Airlines reported its passenger-traffic demand for October. The NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) gained about 1% Shares of American Airlines parent AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR) rose about 1.31% and shares of JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU) gained about 0.41%.

Shares of Onyx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ONXX) advanced about 7.90% after the company reported its Q3 earnings. The NYSE Arca Pharmaceutical Index (DRG) moved up about 0.34%, while the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (BTK) lost about 0.28%.
