Bearish Sentiment Surges In Latest AAII Sentiment Survey

In the latest American Association of Individual Investors survey, Bearish sentiment soared to levels not seen in well over one year.

Bullish sentiment fell 10.7% to 27.2%, Neutral sentiment fell 7.8% to 23.0% and Bearish sentiment jumped 18.4% to 49.9%.

Bearish sentiment has been above its historical average of 30% for all but three of the past 24 weeks.

Futures are down sharply going into the start of trading. Dow futures are off 65 points, NASDAQ futures are off 13 points, and S&P 500 futures are off 7.3 points.
