Bullish & Neutral Sentiment Rise In Latest AAII Sentiment Survey

In the last American Association of Individual Investors sentiment survey, Bullish and Neutral sentiment rose in the past week, at the expense of Bearish sentiment.

For the week ending August 17, Bullish sentiment rose 2.1% to 35.6%, Neutral sentiment jumped 2.8% to 24.6%, and Bearish sentiment fell 5.0% to 39.8%.

Bearish sentiment is still well above its historical average of 30%, while Bullish sentiment is below its historical average of 39%.

Futures are off sharply this morning as worries over Europe continue to persist. Dow futures are off 195 points, NASDAQ futures are off 47.5 points and S&P 500 futures are off 23.1 points.
