Tesla's V4 Superchargers Could Add 115 Miles Of Range In 5 Minutes

Tesla Inc's (NASDAQ: TSLA) V4 Superchargers are set to deliver greater charging speeds with the ability to add 115 miles of range in just five minutes at full power.

This marks a significant increase from the current limit of 250kW to an impressive 350kW.

The information was confirmed in a planning submission for a new charging site in Swindon, U.K., as reported by NotATeslaApp.

The submission also indicated that all charging units would be usable by any EV driver irrespective of whether they have a Tesla app or account.

During the Tesla Semi unveiling event, both Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Tesla Semi Program Manager Dan Priestley confirmed that the Cybertruck would be compatible with the same charging technology as the Tesla Semi. The Semi charger setup allows up to 1MW of DC fast-charging, made possible through Tesla’s innovative “immersion cooling technology.”

The V4 Superchargers were first displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K., where it was observed that they had a built-in space for a screen and contactless payment terminal. This feature allows for seamless payment by non-Tesla EV owners who wish to charge their vehicles at the Supercharger station, without the need for a Tesla app on their phone.

This development aligns with European regulations that discourage the need for an app to use an EV charging station. The first operational V4 Supercharger was inaugurated in Harderwijk, Netherlands earlier this year.
