Piper Jaffray's Medical Technologies & Hospital Supplies Update
Piper Jaffray released its Medical Technology & Hospital Supplies update today after attending the Current Concepts in Joint Replacement meeting (CCJR).
In a note to clients, Piper Jaffray writes, "We came away from the CCJR meeting with a mixed bag of feedback regarding the outlook for volume and price in Q4 and 2011, as most surgeons and manufacturers expect pricing pressure to continue, and recognize that the industry faces very challenging prior year US comparisons in Q4 and Q1 which were up 8.5% and 7.5% CC, respectively, compared to 1% growth in Q3 against a prior year comp of 5.5%."
