BP CEO Sparks New Controversy (BP)
As oil continued to gush out into the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday, BP CEO Tony Hayward watched a yacht race off the English Coast, sparking new controversy.
A spokeswoman for the British energy company said Hayward was spending time with his teenage son after devoting most of the past two months to the oil spill. However, the Obama administration, which has been harshly critical of Hayward over some of his public statements since the spill began, renewed its criticism over his attendance at the race.
It should be noted that President Obama attended a baseball game in Washington on Friday night and played golf on Saturday.
Those in positions of power or in the public eye still deserve their "down time" and should not be overly criticized for taking some time off from work.
