Senate Approves Job Creation Bill
The Senate approved the $15 billion job bill with a 70 to 28 vote; a very strong bipartisan vote that only required a majority to pass.
The bill is intended to create new jobs in a time of very high unemployment rates. Even Republican Senator Scott Brown (R., Mass.) approved of the bill.
Both parties are hopeful that the bill will do its job of creating (or at least saving) 1.3 million jobs in an attempt to decrease the unemployment rate.
The main function of the bill is to provide companies stellar tax credits for all new employees in an effort to increase hiring throughout the country.
Hopefully this bill will assist with the country's economic recovery by increasing jobs available to those who have been laid off due to the economic downturn.
