Strayer Education Announces Acquisition Of New York Code And Design Academy

Strayer Education Inc (NASDAQ: STRA), an education services holding company, on Friday announced that it has acquired the New York Code and Design Academy, a provider of non-degree web and mobile app development courses.

The New York Code and Design Academy offers students a program that is "designed to create accomplished web developers from scratch" with its "fast-paced curriculum is taught by industry professionals that work with the same tools you do."

Strayer Education operates many physical campuses across the U.S. and also offers a fully online Executive MBA program through the Jack Welch Management Institute.

Shares of Strayer Education have lost more than 20 percent over the past year.
