Why Walter White And Jesse Pinkman Dissed Toys 'R' Us
The tale of a meth-making science teacher makes for great television, but some questionable toy ideas for children.
That's how one mom felt, at least.
Susan Schrivjer is an admitted fan of AMC's "Breaking Bad," but she doesn't care for its action figures. In an online petition, Schrivjer said the "decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children's toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values."
The petition has received 9,000 signatures.
Toys R Us has since issued a response to the petition: "Let's just say, the action figures have taken an 'indefinite sabbatical.'"
The mother certainly had her supporters:
How was this ever a "kids" toy?? “@FresnoBee: Toys R Us pulls ‘Breaking Bad' dolls: http://t.co/QtvSP0m678 pic.twitter.com/bRTdjFlSCB”

Others found this as a good opportunity to provide a laugh:

Wait, so @ToysRUs pulled all of the Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and still sells Barbie? Hmmmm...I wonder what is more damaging?

Dear @ToysRUs, We have close to 30,000 signed on the petition, that is 3 times the amount that caused you to remove the toys. Talk to me. Ap

And four-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston even shared his take on the ordeal:
"Florida mom petitions against Toys 'R Us over Breaking Bad action figures." I'm so mad, I'm burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest

Toys R Us puts Breaking Bad toys on 'indefinite sabbatical.' Word on the street is that they were sent to Belize. Nicely played Florida Mom.
