Jim Cramer’s Short Term Plays
Jim Cramer was recently on CNBC talking short term market movement; he voiced his opinion that the recent sell off is technical and quite healthy (many, myself included agree). He stated that near term momentum is with the defensive names as large players rotate out of high beta names and look for a little security in the market as volatility spikes.
Jim Cramer’s three favorite sectors for “Right Now” were drug companies, food plays, and dividend plays. He cited such names as Merck (NYSE: MRK), Costco (NASDAQ: COST), Duke Energy Corp (NYSE: DUK), Nike (NYSE: NKE), and Altria (NYSE: MO)
Out of the group I am bullish on Altria, Merck, and Nike; the first for its hefty dividend, the second because the stock has really turned around and looks like it could more higher, and the third, Nike, because I think this upcoming analyst day could give momentum to an already outstanding run.
