Analyst Picks Yahoo And Google (YHOO, GOOG)
The Federal Communications Commission has unveiled a new broadband policy. In an interview with CNBC, John Hodulik, telecom analyst at UBS, said, “It’s really hard to tell what it means.” The new rule states that telecommunications service would be subject to “common carrier” obligation. This obligation would force the companies to treat all traffic equally.
Ben Schachter, internet analyst at Broadpoint Amtech, said that consumers should have a choice of content and applications. Schachter told CNBC, “We want to make sure we don't return to the days of Ma Bell when phone companies told you what type of phone you could rent and who you are allowed to call on it.” He picked Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO) and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) as his favorite stocks.
