Netflix to Launch Service in Spain in January 2012

Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) will arrive in Spain in January 2012, according to ScreenDaily.com. Pedro Perez, president of the local producers association FAPAE, has confirmed this, saying Netflix had been in contact with Spanish producers in preparation of the launch.

Intellectual property piracy is a serious problem in Spain, with 400 million illegal downloads per year, compared with 100 million tickets sold in the theaters, according to the International Intellectual Property Alliance's Watchlist.
