Apple's Component Makers Given Green Light To Book Production Capacity, Report Says
According to a report by DigiTimes, at least 2 of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)'s key suppliers have started to book production capacity and their foundry and backend partners.
DigiTimes, citing "industry sources," reported that Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRUS) and Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI) have both requested their foundry and backend service providers reserve a "significant portion of their production capacities" in the second and third quarter.
DigiTimes added that both Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices will "play a key role" in the "brand new" design of Apple's upcoming iPhone 7 device. The new iPhone is expected to be slimmer and equipped without a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The publication's sources also said that Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE: TSM) will "grab most of or probably all orders" for Apple's A10 processors.
