Seinfeld The Latest Comedian To Land A Huge Netflix Deal

Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" will soon be available to Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX)'s members.

According to Variety, Seinfeld's show used to be exclusive to the streaming service Crackle, but Netflix wooed the comedian and his coffee sipping, story sharing show to come to Netflix in late 2017.

Variety noted that in addition to 59 already aired episodes, 24 new "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" segments will come to Netflix's platform by the end of the year, with even more to come in 2018 and beyond. Seinfeld's new agreement with Variety also includes two new stand-up specials that will be filmed exclusively for Netflix.

Signing Seinfeld to Netflix's roster is merely an extension of the streaming media platform's strategy over the years. Of particular note, Netflix is now a global streaming platform, and this is evident in the large number of international comedians signed on to Netflix.
