Sharps Compliance Corp (NASDAQ: SMED) shares appreciated 7.11% to $11.00. SMED continued to be in demand for the second consecutive day, with share volumes traded in today's session exceeding normal levels by 360%. SMED has recently won a contract to provide medical waste services to government agencies, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services.

China Agritech Inc (NASDAQ: CAGC) shares jumped 4.27% to $30.55. The volume of CAGC shares rose 326% above normal in today's trading session. CAGC is one of the Chinese agricultural stocks that have been performing strongly of late. The demand fundamentals indicate that the trend may continue in the near future.

Sanderson Farms Inc (NASDAQ: SAFM) shares rose by 2.97% to $43.68. The volume of SAFM shares were 280% more than normal. SAFM swung to profits in FQ4, driven by a sharp fall in feed-grain costs and supply cuts across the industry.

Nanometrics Incorporated (NASDAQ: NANO) shares surged by 8.16% to $13.52. The volume of NANO shares traded today was 209% more than normal. NANO has recently received a follow-on order for its Atlas XP Metrology Systems from a major client.

China Automotive Systems Inc (NASDAQ: CAAS) shares rose 6.47% to $20.72. The volume of CAAS shares traded 195% more than normal. CAAS’ shares are rallying on the back of a 98.2% year-over-year spike in China’s November auto sales, which has set a new monthly record of more than one million units.
