Hayward Mulling Next Step
Believe it or not, former BP (NYSE: BP) CEO Tony Hayward is a desirable commodity and is reportedly mulling several opportunities to get back into the business world after his less-than-glorious departure from the British oil giant following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Hayward is involved in a new energy consultancy firm, but appears to be setting his sights on a portfolio of board appointments or corporate work, according to the Telegraph, a London daily.
Hayward currently has a non-executive board role at TNK-BP, the company's joint venture in Russia.
Hayward is said to have had preliminary overtures from businesses inside and outside the world of energy but the signs are that he is putting off decisions on whether to take up any of them until next year, according to the Telegraph.
