April live cattle is trading at 117.90, up 0.20 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 108.30, up 0.22 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading steady to higher just after the open.

Chatter about cash prices and weather impacts on consumer demand is making the rounds.

Monday's USDA cattle slaughter was 116,000 head versus 111,000 head a year ago.
