Caterpillar Rises Despite Analyst Downgrades
The market gave Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) investors some comfort Wednesday as the stock gained more than 1 percent despite three analyst downgrades.
The positive move in the shares followed a sharp fall on Tuesday when the company failed to meet fourth-quarter expectations.
Longbow Research, Vertical Research and Atlantic Equities all downgraded the stock on Wednesday and the shares have declined nearly 5.5 percent since Monday.
The stock showed strength amid Wednesday's downgrades and recently traded at $80.71, up 1 percent.
